Got this from the boss (about the second paper):

" Here are my comments. By and large I like it a lot." then there was a series of comments.

They will be a bit of work to fix, but I am confident that I can get him the new version by later this week. Then, hopefully they will be submitted soon. He has already approved the first one. I think this may actually happen-- a few months late-- but it may happen.

Tabula Rasa's "Invite a Friend Back" Program

If your Tabula Rasa account has been inactive for 90 days or you know someone who hasn't played for that long, then you could benefit from this program. Basically a player with a current subscription refers a player with an inactive account and they "split a month of free game time" which means they each get 15 or 16 free days I guess. Details on how to refer someone are here:

http://www.playtr.com/community/contests_promotions/invite_a_friend_back.html

If you have a 90 day or longer inactive account and would like for me to refer you, send an email to trinfan at yahoo dot com or reply via Livejournal Private Message.

I stopped playing for three months myself. Came back over a week ago and am having a great time. The game is still a solid, fast paced semi-shooter and in the next patch will add player controlled Control Points, which should liven up PVP. Also added will be a boxing arena complete with gloves and boxing trunks for those who like to fight mano e mano. The Public Test Server (PTS) now has the ability to make your character level 30, 40, or 50 and give a generous amount of credits. You still have to get gear and collect Logos, but its a good way to experiment, explore, and test out new builds.

Opinion time!

My boyfriend is doing a speech about games and why they are good. So, since he doesn't have an LJ, I offered to ask for opinions. So essentially, why do you think games are good for you? Have they made you smarter? Expanded your horizons? What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts. X-posted to the [info]girl_gamers and [info]gamers comms, sorry if you see this twice.

This stuff was meant for [info]harleybitch, but in case others haven't seen them...

Pokemon "Bitches" video - Someone cut Pokemon footage to the Mindless Self Indulgence song "Bitches", which ends up awesome. Some great timing in the cuts made, especially towards the end of the song.

If the Olympics worked like Mario Kart.

(med/me) i guess i don't need a fasting lipid panel again for a few years

CHOLESTEROL 177
HDL 83 (should be greater than 40)
LDL 83 (should be less than 160 for me)
TRIGLYCERIDE 53

take that, lab tech who thought i should technically be fasting 12-14 hours (i'd fasted 11).

all my other labwork looked good, too. i just was too amused by my HDL to not comment on it. (:

Question

Hello,

I just joint this community, and first of all would like to thank the author of PocketLJ for writing the program!

Second of all, I have a question (of course). I understand how to create entries off line and post them later (though I have not tried doing that yet). What is more important for me, however, is an ability to edit (offline) existing entries of the journal, or at least one such entry. Is that an option? Thank you in advance for your comments.

Review @ Girls&Gaming

I have just done my first review for Girls&Gaming - It is for a recently released (I say recent, it was a late-March release) 360/PS3 game called Viking: Battle for Asgard - A decent hack-and-slash game based around Norse Mythology and by the same team who brought you the Total War series.

Check it out here!

Starcade

I don't think this has been posted here, so I'll give you all a heads up. Starcade, the very first video game show, has (I believe) every episode of the series online for free viewing at this link:

http://www.starcade.tv/starcade/episodes.asp

It's an oddly entertaining show, especially to the old arcade afficianados out there in the world. I actually talk about it (and arcades in general) in the most recent episode of my podcast, Random X Radio v2.0. I highly recommend listening to all the episodes of the podcast, because I think they're entertaining, and I'm the host of the show, and free advertising is the best kind of advertising. So sit back, relax, watch a couple of episodes of Starcade, and listen to the podcast. If people respond positively to the podcast, I'll start updating this community when a new episode comes out.

Enjoy the links!

BT.

I was wondering what had happened with BT's daughter being abducted. Thanks to wikipedia, wonder no more:

On December 23, 2007, news broke that BT's 3 1/2 year old daughter Kaia Nui Transeau had been abducted by her mother, Ashley Duffy, during a planned visit. The date of the abduction was not specified, but it was also reported that between the abduction and the public announcement, Kaia had spoken to her father over the phone at least once, saying that her mother was yelling at and hitting her. On January 7th, 2008, a press release was issued that stated Kaia still had not been located, was now listed in the NCIC missing persons database, and included a personal statement from BT:

I am diligently and delicately working to do everything possible to amend this tragic family situation. As a father my only goal is to get my daughter back home in a stable and safe environment. I appreciate your continued support and understanding in this desperate hour.

On January 15th, 2008, various media outlets began reporting that Kaia had been located in Santa Monica, California and was reunited with her father. Ashley Duffy was arrested and charged with one count of "out-of-state child abduction from the lawful custodian" and one count of "out-of-state child detention from the lawful custodian."

ABC News reported on January 18th that all charges against Ashley Duffy were dropped with officials claiming that the felony arrest warrant never should have been issued. Seth Zucker, spokesman for the Montgomery County State Attorney's office is quoted as saying, "The charges have been dropped, the warrant has been squashed [sic],It's a family law issue now for California." Ashley's mother, is also stated as saying that the mother and father will share custody of Kaia with alternating 48 hour visits until a later California family court date occurs.

5 hardest videogame levels of all time: I think their list is woefully short, and missing some important games. How about you?
